Working with MidKent College, KC Coaching is now offering the following courses in Coaching & Mentoring:

ILM Level 3 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

Course length:  6 days (monthly workshops starting 19 October 2017)

Annual Fee:  £649.00

The Details:

The ILM Level 3 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring is ideal if you want to support and get the best out of your team, particularly if you are managing or supervising apprentices, and want to develop your communication and leadership skills.

This certificate will enhance your own personal development, and is particularly relevant if you wish to develop your skills to:

  • Build rapport and trust with your team
  • Develop your listening and feedback skills
  • Agree and set motivational goals/targets
  • Help your team to break down goals into achievable tasks and produce their own action plan
  • Build confidence and self-belief

Units covered are:

Understanding Good Practice in Workplace Coaching

  • The difference between coaching and mentoring
  • Behaviours of an effective Coach/Mentor
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Goal setting techniques: GROW model, The Wheel, Resources Toolkit
  • How an organisation can benefit from coaching and mentoring
  • How coaching and mentoring fits in with your organisation’s Values, Vision and Mission

Undertaking an Extended Period of Coaching in the Workplace

  • Preparing for your first session of coaching
  • Tri-ad sessions to practice techniques, observations, feedback and reflection
  • Measuring progress
  • Self-awareness tools

Other important information:

ILM qualifications combine innovative design with a strong focus on workplace performance.  This course will help you gain key coaching skills which you will be able to put into practise immediately within your team.  You will learn strategies to support and engage with your team and gain a greater understanding of how to motivate them and build their confidence whilst developing your coaching skills.  No previous experience of coaching and mentoring is necessary.  Whilst studying for your qualification you can apply for 12 months’ free membership of the ILM.

ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

Course length:  6 days (monthly workshops starting 26 October 2017)

 

Annual Fee:  £1199.00

The Details:

The ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring is designed for those with some experience of coaching and/or mentoring who would like to develop their skills and improve performance, and gain the ability to establish a framework of coaching and/or mentoring in their organisation.  This certificate is particularly relevant for those managing or supervising apprentices, and who want to develop their communication and leadership skills. 

Units covered are: 

Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Management Coaching and Mentoring 

  • The difference between coaching, mentoring, counselling and training
  • Skills and behaviours of an effective Management Coach/Mentor
  • Developing coaching and mentoring skills
  • Coaching Models:  Transactional Analysis, Nancy Klein, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
  • How to make a case for coaching or mentoring in an organisation
Undertaking an Extended Period of Management Coaching in the Workplace 
  • Tri-ad sessions to practice techniques, observations, feedback and reflection
  • Working with Competency Frameworks
  • Overcoming limiting beliefs
  • Learning preferences and VAK
  • Perception tools
  • Measuring progress 

Other important information:

This course will help you gain key coaching skills which you will be able to put into practise immediately within your team.  You will learn tools and techniques, and practise various coaching models to support and engage with your team and gain a greater understanding of how to motivate them and build their confidence whilst developing your coaching skills.  Whilst studying for your qualification you can apply for 12 months’ free membership of the ILM. 

Entry Requirements:

Although there are no formal entry requirements you should be a practising middle manager and we recommend successful completion of an ILM Level 3 qualification.
